Photography was never a passion that I thought I would pursue. It was one of those distant dreams that tickles the fancy of your conscious yet never materializes into a skill, hobby, or cool party trick. I would go onto other people's blogs, Facebook pages, or instagrams and say, "wow, that's a nice picture" or "It would be cool if I could take photos as beautiful as that one". However, I was content with life, going through school, managing jobs, and enjoying life with my girlfriend. But life doesn't always go your way. And what you imagined your life would be 5 years down the road isn't the road you'll travel anymore.

After taking my family's DSLR on a Pharmacy Industry Trip in late April, I found a renewed interest in photography and explored the University of Toronto and Downtown core with fevor and excitement. At this point, photography was (and still is) an escape. To live in reality but be able to focus on the beautiful, interesting, and surreal. Photography can make the slightest detail significant, the largest mountain scalable. And while doing this, photography invokes thought, emotion, and reflection. It's attainable art that anyone can create. And this inherent accessibility yet wealth of complexity keeps me wanting to snap photos.

Which brings me to this website. Spurred by spontaneous idea of a good friend (thanks Monique!), I contemplated making a website to share some of the photos I've taken. It's by no means the most interesting, and my photographs are by no means the most professional, but this is an exercise in self-reflection and growth, and a pilot project to share myself with the world.

So thank you for checking out my website, my work, and my musings. I hope you find something in these few webpages that you'll remember. For me, this website is a road I chose to go down. It may not have been what I had expected, but there's more than one road, and the roads less travelled are far more interesting.
